Steve there are a few things that have been running though my mind for a while now. I believe that our governments (plural) need reformation however reformation needs to happen in the church. This is not a rant but i have seen enough pop-culture church to last me a life time. It’s as though if it’s not traditional then it’s sissy coffee house Christianity. So with that being said I have wanted to see a kingdom coalition locally that would incorporate all ideas from all walks of life.
I have noticed that Baptist will not participate in things that do not promote their views. Methodist are no different. And so on. If we could reach a place that the (local) Christian majority could come together in pursuit of true market place reformation I believe our town might become a model for other towns to follow.
I believe this is accomplished in several ways.
1. Stop labeling things as Christian and secular it turns people off.
2. Draw from the rich Hispanic resources we have in Hardee county.
3.Start small group meetings civically to gain insight from different people groups.(see citytribes.org)
4.Start new social networks that utilize new and fresh ways of doing things.
If we don’t question what we are doing we will never change what we are doing.
Maybe it is a rant. I have no idea what you are looking for but these are just a few of my thoughts.
